The Four Fox Fledglings
A Punjabi Story by

There was at one
time a group of foxes who lived in the forested areas. There was a mother fox,
a dad fox, and four infant fox fledglings. The offspring were named Arjan,
Surjan, Ganji, and Bulbul.
Multi day, the
daddy fox said to his four whelps, 'I should go out to work and I might be away
for a long time. You should guarantee me that you will be great and do what
your mom lets you know while I am no more.'
The fox whelps all
consented to do as their mom taught. What's more, when it was the ideal
opportunity for their dad to leave, the whelps all assembled at the entryway
and waved farewell and wished him fortunes on his trip.
A few days go in
which the offspring played and did their errands and carried on as their dad
had taught. However, multi day, mother fox understood that the pantries were
all vacant of sustenance and she would need to go to the market. She said to
her young offspring, 'I should go out to the market to get sustenance, however
I can't take you with me as it is excessively risky and I can't take care of
only you. You should remain here at home despite the fact that I don't care to
abandon you. At any rate here you will be protected.'
The mother fox
considered how best to secure her whelps for the brief time she would be at the
market, at that point in the end she stated: 'You should keep the entryway
bolted the entire time that I am gone, and you should just open the entryway
when I return.'
The most youthful
of the offspring asked, 'Mother, by what method will we realize that it is you
at the entryway?'
What's more, the
mother answered, 'I will get out your names like so… Arjan, Surjan, Ganji, and
Bulbul, open the entryway! What's more, you will perceive my voice and let me
in.'
At that point the
mother fox headed out to the market and the offspring kept on playing
amusements at home, making a point to keep the entryway bolted and not to open
it except if they heard their names being called.
In any case, there
was an extremely tricky and exceptionally insatiable lion who was strolling
close by, and the lion had heard everything that the mother had said to her
young offspring. The slippery lion contemplated internally, 'Aha! I can go to
the house where the offspring live. I can remain by the entryway. Furthermore,
Ican get out… Arjan, Surjan, Ganji, and Bulbul, open the entryway! They won't
realize that it is me,' thought the subtle lion. 'They will feel that I am the
mother fox and they will open the entryway and let me in. And afterward I will
gobble them all up!'
So the slippery
lion crawled up to the entryway of the house where the whelps lived, took a
major breath, and got out, 'Arjan, Surjan, Ganji, and Bulbul, open the
entryway!'
At the point when
the youthful whelps heard the call they thought, 'That is extremely unusual.
Those are our names being called, yet that does not seem like our mom. What
will we do?'
Arjan, Surjan,
Ganji, and Bulbul, became extremely terrified in light of the fact that they
were uncertain about whether to open the entryway or not, and they longed that
their dad and mom were at home to secure them.
Fortunately the
whelps had great neighbors. There were many fox families close-by, and there
was likewise a monkey who was extremely overcome and exceptionally solid. The
group of foxes who lived nearest to the offspring had heard the lion getting
out and rapidly found the monkey. They asked him, 'Monkey, monkey, what will we
do? That lion will eat those little fox whelps while their mom and father are
away!'
Whack, whack,
whack, ran the monkey with the huge, overwhelming branch as he pursued the lion
far from the house and out of the timberland.
At the point when
the mother fox and the dad fox both returned home they were exceptionally
appreciative to the overcome monkey and to alternate foxes for securing their
whelps while they were away.
What's more, that
was the day that youthful Arjan, Surjan, Ganji, and Bulbul, took in an
important exercise undoubtedly. The youthful offspring discovered that it is
vital to know your neighbors and be caring to them since they will dependably
take care of you consequently, and will offer assistance when you require it
most.
