The Rabbit and the Puma

The Rabbit and the Puma
A Mexican society story told by David Heathfield
There lived once, an old man and an old lady. And all they had on the planet was one rabbit and one puma.
They kept the rabbit in an enclosure.
Multi day, the Panther went to the pen: 'Gracious, Rabbit..? Conejo..? The old man and the old lady are setting up a container of high temp water. They will bubble you. They will eat you. They will offer some to me.'
'God help us,' said Conejo. 'No in fact. They will make hot chocolate. What's more, on the off chance that you come in the pen with me, they will bring some for you, Puma.'
Puma opened the entryway of the enclosure and lurked inside. With a jump and a skip, Rabbit was out of the confine and away through the entryway of the house.
Puma held up there, and held up there, and held up there some more…
'I've been deceived! There is no hot chocolate!'
Puma jumped out of the confine and out through the entryway, and through the woodland he went searching for where Conejo had gone. He experienced the timberland until the point when he went to the mountain. What's more, there in the side of the mountain was a buckle. Inside the surrender, there was Conejo.
'You deceived me! You, Conejo!'
'Who, I?' said Conejo. 'You should discuss some other rabbit. I am making my home here. In any case, perceive how I am holding up the dividers? In the event that I don't hold them up, they will tumble down. I should go and discover a stick to prop up the dividers. Puma, would you not help me by setting your paws against the mass of my home?'
Panther lurked into the surrender and put his solid paws against the mass of the give in.
With a bounce and a skip, Conejo was out of the give in and away into the woodland.
Panther held up there, and held up there, and held up there some more.
He held up there, and he held up there, longer than previously…
'I've been deceived!'
Panther jumped out of the give in and away through the woodland, searching for Conejo. He couldn't discover him.
He ceased and tuned in. He could hear Conejo giggling – 'ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Hee, hee, hee, hee, hee!' – at how he had deceived Puma.
Puma crawled nearer and spied Conejo. He was dangling from a flexible vine, bobbing all over, snickering with happiness.
Puma arranged to jump…
He jumped through the air and arrived with his paws upon Conejo, squeezing him down to the ground. In any case, Conejo he wriggled and wriggled, and between Puma's paws he crushed and flew with the spring of the flexible flying high into the air – high, high into the sky he flew, until the point that Conejo arrived on the moon. Furthermore, there Conejo remains: lying on his back on the moon. What's more, they say, in Mayan culture, that in the event that you look up at the moon when it is full and red, you see Conejo there as yet, lying on his back and snickering at how he deceived Puma.
